This year’s MetroPlus Theatre Fest has a range of allied activities. Some of them take place
at the venue (Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall) before the show starts, while others — such as the national symposium on English theatre —
are held on non-performance days. Some interactions for those who are interested are also being planned with the directors of the plays. Here is a brief
calendar of events:
AT THE VENUE

Aug 1 – World Music by Prakash and Vedanth.
Aug 2 – Slow rock by SoundScape (Varun, Vijay and Navin)
Aug 3 – Rock and roll by Armour of God (Siva, Addy, Bosky, Leon and Gene)
Aug 6 – From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Open to all. Symposium on ‘English Theatre in India: Challenge and Opportunity’. (Chaired and moderated by Arshia Sattar).
Aug 7 – Pottery making by DakshinaChitra
Aug 8 - Soft stone carving by DakshinaChitra
Aug 9 - Glass blowing by DakshinaChitra
Aug 10 - Script reading of ‘Harlesden High Street’, the play that won the MetroPlus Playwright Award. (Reading by the winner Abishek Majumdar and others)
OFF VENUE
Aug 5 - Evam’s workshop on “How to start and run a theatre company” at Goethe Institut. Registration Rs. 100 (on first-come-first-served basis) at venue from August 1.

Aug 8 – New-York-based Concrete Temple Theatre conducts a “A Voice, Movement and Performance Workshop: Page to Stage” for theatre professionals from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. at Women’s Christian College (Assembly Hall), College Road.
