Some facts to enhance your theatre experience.



This year’s MetroPlus Theatre Fest will be staged at the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall on Harrington Road, in the Lady Andal School Campus.

Below, some details about the hall and its facilities, the knowledge of which will enhance your theatre experience.

Arrive on time

Please be seated by 7.15 pm, or fifteen minutes before the plays begin. If you arrive half an hour earlier, you will have plenty of time to park, a greater choice of seats (the fest has free seating), pore over the festival brochure, and prepare yourself for the experience.

Arrive even earlier if you can since there a host of allied activities planned before each show. Details of this will be posted later.



Arriving by car

Entry for cars is from the First Gate on your left into the Madras Seva Sadan Premises on Harrington road when coming from the Chetpet junction. Visitors can be dropped off at the entrance to the hall and then drive further into the allotted parking space for cars inside an open ground.

Arriving by taxi /auto

Entry for taxis and autorickshaws is from the same gate. Visitors can be dropped off at a designated drop-off point for taxis and autos at the driveway to the concert hall, which will then take a U-turn and leave through the exit gate.

Arriving by bike

Entry for two-wheelers is from the third gate on your left into the Madras Seva Sadan Premises after the school building. Visitors can parallel park on the road leading to the concert hall on the right side.

Special parking bays for Artists, Crew, Production team Buses, Freight trucks, trailers etc may be allotted as required.

Parking

Free Parking spaces for about 250 cars and bikes are available within the Madras Seva Sadan premises.

Seating plan

The Concert Hall has a total capacity of 1132 seats, of which 632 seats are on the ground floor and 500 seats are at the balcony, which have a fine view.



Wheelchair users

Ramped access for wheelchairs are only available for ground floor seats with entrance through two doors. There are a total of 12 spaces for wheelchairs , six on either side of the seating arena with close proximity to the doors. These spaces are on Row E in the seating arena.

Hall etiquette

Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall is a non-smoking building. Food and Beverage is not allowed into the premises at any time. Drinking water alone is allowed into the seating arena. Kindly ensure all pagers and mobile phones are switched off before entering the concert hall. Photography and videography are not permitted without the permission of the organisers. Doors will close when the play commences and entry following this is at the discretion of the organisers.
