In its second year, the Festival included feature, documentary and short films by women directors from Korea and India and from around the world as well as films by male directors whose work present a distinct women's perspective. InKo Centre commissioned 13 Indian items selected from across India by the Crafts Council of India for presentation at the World Onggi Exposition in Ulsan. 8 Indian works were selected for the International competition which included work by over 1500 earthenware craftspersons worldwide. Veeramuthu Velar’s Ayyanar horse won the Silver Prize of Rs. 75,000/- and a citation and all the other 7 artists received a Special Prize commendation.

The Festival focussed on a strong Korean and Indian section of feature films, short films and documentaries as well as a section on World Cinema in all three categories. During the Festival 135 films from 51 countries were screened over 9 days, at the Russian Centre of Science & Culture, Chennai.

Korean Contemporary Spectrum, curated by K-Art Pusan, was curated by K-Art and presented in association with Lalit Kala Akademi and InKo Centre with Hyatt Regency, Chennai, as a Hospitality partner. The exhibition with a total of 150 paintings by 30 Korean artists, the largest exposition of Korean painting in India to date was presented at Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai.

InKo Centre and Performance Group Tuida initiated a collaborative Theatre production, titled Moving Asia that will bring together Indian and Korean actors, dancers and musicians and a creative team from both countries. The project started with a research visit in August 2011 to The Trichur School of Drama, Trichur, Kalamandalam, Shornoor, Daksha Seth Dance School, Trivandrum, Kalakshetra, and Purisai village, Chennai and to Kolkata, to witness performances that present indigenous art forms and instruments representative of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and the North Eastern States of India. This research visit is the first step in developing an Indo-Korean co-production which is likely to be ready for presentation in July / August 2013.

InKo Centre in association with Lalit Kala Akademi and Kalakshetra Foundation presented EarthMatters: an Indo-Korean Ceramic residency and exhibition in Chennai. The project brought together 12 ceramic artists - 6 each from India and Korea. The residency focused on providing time for individual artists to develop new work as well as an opportunity for sharing best practices; networking with peers and for interactions with students and the general public at specified periods. The residency period was followed by a public exhibition from 14 to 21 February at Lalit Kala Akademi, in Chennai.

InKo Centre in association with Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd and the International Women's Film Festival in Seoul (IWFFIS), the Network of Asian Women’s Film Festivals (NAWFF), The National Film Development Corporation, India (NFDC), Films Division and Russian Centre of Science & Culture, along with a host of partners including key cultural organisations and national Embassies in India, presented the 5th Samsung Women’s International Film Festival in Chennai (SWIFF) at the Russian Centre of Science & Culture, in Chennai. 120 feature, short and documentary films from India, Korea and approximately 50 countries around the world, screened over seven days in Chennai. Close to 25 national and international directors visited the city to introduce their films.

Mr Byung Soo-Eun, designer and crafts specialist, Former Artistic Director of Gwangju Design Biennale, Artistic Director of Seoul City and Visiting professor of Korea National University of Arts, presented a note on Korean Craft and its relevance in the contemporary world titled "The Future is Handmade".

InKo Centre, in association with the Indian Art Museum, Seoul and Lalit Kala Akademi, with support from Hyundai Motor India Limited and Hyatt Regency, Chennai, presented the Emerging Canvas: An Indo-Korean Young Artists' Exhibition to showcase the dynamic and multi-dimensional work of 16 young artists, 8 each from India and Korea. The Korean section of this exhibition was curated by Mrs Kim Yang-Shik, Director of the Indian Art Museum, Seoul, renowned poet, founder of the Tagore Society in Korea, who was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for her dedication to promote Indian art & culture and in particular, Tagore's philosophy and work, in Korea over the last 40 years.

Acclaimed Korean ceramicist Mr Sung Jae Choi led a two week glaze workshop at DakshinaChitra from 1-15 February 2013. Mr Sung Jae Choi, a glaze specialist whose works were included in many prestigious collections around the world. Mr Choi is a Professor in the Department of Traditional Art & Craft at The Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in Seoul, Korea.

K-Style – a Centre Stage Performance by 32 dancers from 3 contemporary dance companies, Korea was presented at the Attakkalari India Biennial, Bangalore. The programme was supported by Arts Council Korea and InKo Centre. In addition to performances, Yeon-woo Na, choreographer was selected by Arts Council Korea (ARKO) to participate in the International Choreography Residency FACETS, at the Attakkalari India Biennial from 5 December 2012 – 3 February 2013.

InKo Centre in association with K-Art, Lalit Kala Akademi and Hyatt Regency, Chennai, presented The Chennai Chamber Biennale, the first in a proposed series of curated bi-annual exhibitions that aim to showcase the range and variety of contemporary paintings from Korea. 15 top Korean artists travelled to Chennai for this exhibition, to introduce their 134 works and to interact with local artists.
