WaterBodies: an annual Indo-Korean Arts Residency project focusing on the theme of 'water' was held at Spaces, Chennai with 5 Indian and Korean artists and 1 curator from India and Korea. Their work was presented at the exhibition thereafter. Several multi-disciplinary talks and film screenings on the theme of water complemented the two-week long exhibition.

InKo Centre, in association with the Korea Foundation and with support from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, presented - Four Walls by Sincha Hong, one of the foremost avant-garde dancers from Korea. It was a meditative performance that paid tribute to the legendary composer and musician, John Cage. The performance was presented at the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, Chennai. A Japanese lighting designer and musician accompanied Sincha Hong.

Acclaimed Korean ceramicist Mr Sung Jae Choi led a two week glaze workshop at DakshinaChitra from 1-15 February 2013. Mr Sung Jae Choi, a glaze specialist whose works were included in many prestigious collections around the world. Mr Choi is a Professor in the Department of Traditional Art & Craft at The Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in Seoul, Korea.

The Korean section of this exhibition was curated by Mrs Kim Yang-Shik, Director of the Indian Art Museum, Seoul, renowned poet, founder of the Tagore Society in Korea, who was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for her dedication to promote Indian art & culture and in particular, Tagore's philosophy and work, in Korea over the last 40 years..

The Festival focussed on a strong Korean and Indian section of feature films, short films and documentaries as well as a section on World Cinema in all three categories. During the Festival 135 films from 51 countries were screened over 9 days, at the Russian Centre of Science & Culture, Chennai.

InKo Centre and Performance Group Tuida initiated a collaborative Theatre production, titled Moving Asia that will bring together Indian and Korean actors, dancers and musicians and a creative team from both countries. The project started with a research visit in August 2011 to The Trichur School of Drama, Trichur, Kalamandalam, Shornoor, Daksha Seth Dance School, Trivandrum, Kalakshetra, and Purisai village, Chennai and to Kolkata, to witness performances that present indigenous art forms and instruments representative of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and the North Eastern States of India. This research visit is the first step in developing an Indo-Korean co-production which is likely to be ready for presentation in July / August 2013.

InKo Centre commissioned 13 Indian items selected from across India by the Crafts Council of India for presentation at the World Onggi Exposition in Ulsan. 8 Indian works were selected for the International competition which included work by over 1500 earthenware craftspersons worldwide. Veeramuthu Velar’s Ayyanar horse won the Silver Prize of Rs. 75,000/- and a citation and all the other 7 artists received a Special Prize commendation.

InKo Centre supported Tulika Publisher’s publication of "High in the Sky" a Korean folktale retold by Cathy Spagnoli and illustrated by Jo Hye-Mi. 8000 copies of this book was published in Tamil for the library programme in Government schools in Tamil Nadu.
